Taking wellness breaks is like pressing a refresh button. It gives us the time to breathe and break free from all the stressors. When we think of "taking a break", a lot of us would imagine a day off from work or an out-of-town trip with the family. While these ideas are great, not everyone can afford to do that.
If you come to think of it, you could do it every day. These simple activities which you could do at the comfort of your home or during office hours can help you regain energy and improve your productivity. Plus, it only takes a couple of minutes!
Taking a Walk
Go outside. Expose yourself to the sun. Walk around your office or take a short walk in the nearby park. Walking is not only physically healthy but also ideal for your emotional and mental health. It allows you to think (think happy thoughts!) and improves your mood as you get close to nature.
Talk to Someone
Ideally, someone who can share a positive energy with you--not those who will only give you another burden. While being a friend to a friend in need is also important, you might not want to expose yourself to another load of stress if you're trying to have a peaceful mind.
A short Thank You letter to someone who had a positive impact on you shifts our mindset to be positive. Through this, we make our heart happy by showing gratitude towards another.
