Natural Sources of Potassium

Posted by Ruby Tequin on

Potassium is an essential mineral needed by our furry friends. It aids in the efficient functioning of their muscles and is a crucial electrolyte required to produce energy within the cells.

While kibbles provide the amount of potassium required for our pets to function well, these may contain synthetic versions of potassium that can be dangerous to their health. As a result, more and more pet owners are opting for natural sources of potassium to meet the said daily requirements. Here's a list of foods that contain potassium:

  • Potatoes
  • Carrots
  • Beans
  • Peas
  • Parsley
  • Banana
  • Melons
  • Apples
  • Popcorn

Feeding your pet a well-balanced diet is the best and effective way to avoid a nutritional deficiency. You can also put a healthy twist on their diet by adding natural supplements, such as bentonite clay powder, to their diet. Bentonite clay is made from pure, aged volcanic ash which contains trace minerals that can replace the nutrients missing in the body.
