How to Determine the pH Level of Your Water

Water is one of the most important substances on earth. It acts as a fuel that keeps our cells, organs, and tissues working properly. The role of water in our body is so crucial that a mere dehydration could threaten one's life.

Due to the massive industrialization, the water that comes from our faucet is no longer free from heavy metals and other impurities. While it is challenging to tell whether a water is safe for drinking or not, you can still get a better understanding of your water by doing a quick examination. Here's how:

  1. Check the pH level of your water to determine if it contains a normal pH level. Water gets more acidic when contaminated with chlorine, aluminum, and more.
  2. Buy a pH kit. Each pH kit consists of pH strips and a pH color chart and will help you determine the acidity of your water.
  3. Let the pH strips sit in the water and observe how the strip changes its color. 
  4. Refer to the chart to understand the acidity level of your water.
